Manchester City are not interested in signing Bayern Munich defender David Alaba on a free transfer, according to the Manchester Evening News journalist Simon Bajkowski.
Reports in the Spanish media in recent days have claimed that the Citizens have tabled the most lucrative contract offer for the centre-back but Bakjkowski has said this is not the case:
David Alaba is very easily linked with Pep Guardiola but understanding is that #mcfc are not interested in signing him

The saga surrounding Alaba’s future is expected to rumble on and on. A respected former Sky Sports and BBC journalist Guillem Balague has also said City are keen on the 28-year-old so it is up to supporters who they want to believe.
The Austrian’s contract at Bayern expires in June, and there is also reportedly interest in the player from the likes of Real Madrid, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United.
Alaba is expected to make a decision on his future in April or May so there is likely to be more twists and turns in this story over the coming months.
