Journalist Names City As One Of Three Teams Who Are Keen To Snap Up Bayern Star

Manchester City are one of three clubs who have shown “concrete interest” in signing Bayern Munich defender David Alaba, according to Sport Bild‘s Christian Falk.

The Austrian will be available on a free transfer next summer, and it is believed the player is interested in signing for either Real Madrid or Barcelona. However, City, Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus are currently the only teams who are actively pursuing him:

Other clubs, including Liverpool and Manchester United, have also been linked with Alaba in recent months but it does appear that City are leading the way, at least in terms of English sides.

It remains to be seen where Alaba will be playing his football next season. Bayern head coach Hansi Flick has confirmed that no progress has been made in terms of the player signing a contract extension, but if Real Madrid and Barcelona don’t show any interest, he may yet opt to stay at the Allianz Arena.
