Journalist Reveals “Talks” Between Guardiola And World Cup Winner As City Try To Beat PL Rivals To 70M Transfer

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has held “talks” with Brighton midfielder Alexis Mac Allister, according to TNT Sports reporter Ariel Helueni.

The Argentinian journalist claims the Citizens will make a concerted effort to sign the 24-year-old this summer:

It was reported in the English press last month that City had joined the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool in pursuing Mac Allister, and it appears that this story does have some legs.

The Premier League champions are likely to be in the market for a midfielder when the transfer window reopens, especially if captain Ilkay Gundogan leaves the club when his contract expires.

Mac Allister has a very similar skillset to the German, so it makes perfect sense that City are seriously considering making an offer for the World Cup winner.

As we saw last summer when City tried to sign Marc Cucurella, though, Brighton drive a hard bargain. They have reportedly slapped a £70m price tag on Mac Allister.
