Klopp Highlights What Makes City’s Dominance “Really Crazy” As He Makes Premier League Title Prediction

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp says he is expecting Manchester City to win their fifth Premier League title in six years.

The 55-year-old claims that the dominance of Pep Guardiola’s side is quite something, considering the competitiveness of English football:

“Everyone wants (to win) the Premier League but I have no idea who will make the race. It looks like City in the end will be champion, and if we hadn’t been champions in between then they’d have won it five times in a row, which is really crazy in this country. We’re looking to play the best possible season for us and what we can squeeze out of it, let’s see. We’re really looking forward to it.”

Klopp does love to play down his own team’s chances, whilst bigging up his opponents. His reasons for doing it are likely down to his preference for being the underdog.

However, after winning the title by just one point last season, City certainly won’t be taking things for granted. The Premier League champions have had a squad overhaul over the summer so it will be interesting to see how the team performs. The likes of Erling Haaland and Kalvin Phillips have been brought in, while influential players such as Fernandinho, Gabriel Jesus and Raheem Sterling have left.

The first big test is actually coming up very soon when the Citizens take on Klopp’s side in the Community Shield next weekend.
