Latest Manchester City Injury News: Updates On Bernardo Silva, Stones, Aguero, Cancelo And Gabriel Jesus

Manchester City’s injury list has eased slightly with Aymeric Laporte and Oleksandr Zinchenko returning to the bench for the 5-2 defeat against Leicester yesterday. However, six players remain on the sidelines.

Bernardo Silva was pictured in training today but manager Pep Guardiola has previously suggested that the Portuguese international may only be back after the next international break, following a muscular injury. It remains to be seen whether he’ll come back earlier than expected.

John Stones was missing from the squad for the loss to the Foxes, with Guardiola citing minor niggles as the main reason for his absence, but the 26-year-old should be back in contention very soon.

Sergio Aguero is not expected to return until October, with the games against Arsenal and West Ham being targeted for his comeback from knee surgery.

Joao Cancelo picked up a foot injury in training following his return from international duty with Portugal earlier this month, and like Bernardo Silva and Aguero, he isn’t likely to play again until mid-October.

Gabriel Jesus is also out for a few weeks with a muscular injury, while Ilkay Gundogan continues his self-isolation after testing positive for COVID-19.
