Latest Manchester City Injury Report For The Week Ahead

Manchester City should have Phil Foden back for tonight’s game against Preston North End in the Carabao Cup third-round tie.

The 19-year-old missed out on the squads for the matches against Shakhtar Donetsk and Watford due to illness but the midfielder could be in contention to start this evening.

City manager Pep Guardiola revealed after the win against Watford that Benjamin Mendy hadn’t suffered any recurrence of a knee injury. He was taken off at half time in the 8-0 win as they look to build up his fitness.

The Premier League champions’ other injuries are long term. John Stones is expected to miss another month of action due to a muscular problem.

Aymeric Laporte and Leroy Sane (both knee) are not expected to be back in action until February at the earliest. The Citizens have coped without the pair so far but they will both miss a significant portion of the season.
