Latest Manchester City Injury Report: Updates On Sterling, Aguero And Gabriel Jesus

Manchester City winger Raheem Sterling has suffered a hamstring injury and has pulled out of the England squad ahead of their three games during the international break.

It remains to be seen whether he’ll be fit to face Arsenal on Saturday week but the fact that it has been described as a “minor” problem would suggest he could be back in contention to play very soon.

Sergio Aguero is supposed to be building up his fitness ahead of the Gunners’ clash but, as he hasn’t played a match since June due to a knee injury, it suggests he’ll only make the bench if he were to be available.

Gabriel Jesus is more likely to be ready to start, with the Brazilian using the next two weeks in order to recover from a muscular problem he picked up last month. It is the same situation for Oleksandr Zinchenko.

Joao Cancelo has been named in Portugal’s squad which suggests he is close to making his comeback from a foot injury, while Ilkay Gundogan is back in training after taking time to recover his fitness following a positive test for COVID-19.
