Leicester City star names seven City players in his PFA Team of the Year

Leicester City full-back Danny Simpson has revealed he chose no less than seven Manchester City players in his PFA Team of the Season.

Simpson posted his selection for the league’s best XI on Twitter earlier today, as well as displaying his choices for the PFA Player and Young Player of the Year awards.

Sergio Aguero, Raheem Sterling, Leroy Sane, David Silva, Kevin De Bruyne, Nicolas Otamendi and Kyle Walker all made the cut for Simpson.

The Foxes star’s line-up was completed by David De Gea in goal, Mohamed Salah, Tottenham’s Ben Davies and James Tarkowski, who was a surprise choice at centre back.

Simpson also named Leroy Sane as his PFA Young Player of the Year, but opted against Kevin De Bruyne as his Player of the Year – instead choosing Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah.

De Bruyne was dead favourite to land the award before Christmas, however Salah’s continued sensational form for the Reds have seen him now overtake the Belgian as the bookies favourite to scoop the prize.

Salah has scored 36 goals in his debut season for Liverpool, 28 of which have come in the Premier League, making him the division’s top scorer.
