Leicester V Manchester City: Community Shield Preview, Predicted XI And Betting Odds

Manchester City kick off the new campaign when they face Leicester City in the Community Shield at Wembley tomorrow evening.

The Citizens’ newest signing Jack Grealish is unlikely to feature but Pep Guardiola’s side will still be firm favourites to win the first piece of silverware this season.

In terms of injury news, City will be without Phil Foden (ankle) and Liam Delap (knock) but, other than that, Guardiola will have a fully fit squad to choose from, excluding some stars who have returned late to preseason.

Manchester City’s Predicted XI To Face Leicester:

Steffen, Cancelo, Dias, Ake, Mendy, Gundogan, De Bruyne, Fernandinho, Mahrez, Torres, Bernardo Silva

Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers was dealt a huge blow when Wesley Fofana broke his leg in a preseason friendly. The Foxes will also be without Nampalys Mendy (groin), Jonny Evans (foot), James Justin (knee) and Timothy Castagne (head).

Leicester’s Predicted XI:

Schmeichel, Ricardo, Ndidi, Soyuncu, Bertrand, Soumare, Maddison, Tielemans, Daka, Vardy, Barnes

The bookmakers have Manchester City as the strong favourites with William Hill pricing them at 19/20 for the win. A draw after 90 minutes is 29/10 with Betfair while a victory for Leicester is 3/1 at Bet 365.

Predicted Score – 2-1 to Manchester City
