Manchester City goalkeeper Claudio Bravo is holding out for a new three-year contract, according to reports.
The Chilean international’s current deal expires at the end of the season, and the Citizens are said to be looking to offer a one-year extension with further seasons dependent on performances.
However, City are said to be prepared to bring back Zack Steffen as number two if talks reach an impasse with Bravo. Fans on Twitter are hoping the 37-year-old is allowed to leave:
Let him leave.

Couldn’t face 3 more years of seeing every shot go in when he plays

Let him go – apart from pen shootouts have always felt very uneasy when he plays. This dates back to dropping ball in derby leading to a goal. Worst goalie at City in my 54 years watching City

Why would city do give him more than a year at a time? He’s clearly below what he was

Were Bravo to leave, Steffen would be a very able replacement. During his time on loan with Bundesliga side Fortuna Dusseldorf this campaign, the American international has looked impressive.
A knee injury has prevented him from playing since the New Year, but during his 18 appearances for the German club, he conceded 37 goals and kept two clean sheets.
Bravo, on the other hand, has conceded 16 during his 16 appearances for City this campaign, keeping four clean sheets.
