‘Long Overdue’ ‘Better Than Gerrard’ Fans React As City Legend Is One Of 15 Players Nominated For PL Hall Of Fame

Manchester City legend Yaya Toure is among the nominees to be inducted into the official Premier League Hall of Fame.

The midfielder, who made 230 Premier League appearances for City, has deservedly been recognised for his achievements during his eight years at the Etihad. Supporters on Twitter are delighted with the Ivorian’s nomination with many saying he is one of the best midfielders in the history of the Premier League:

Toure was the only City star nominated for the Hall of Fame this year, with former Arsenal players Tony Adams & Sol Campbell, Liverpool duo Robbie Fowler & Michael Owen, Chelsea trio Petr Cech, Ashley Cole and John Terry and Spurs strikers Jermain Defoe & Les Ferdinand also selected.

No less than five former Manchester United stars: Andrew Cole, Gary Neville, Michael Carrick, Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic are up for nomination too.

Only three of the 15 will make it in this year so, if you want Toure be included, you can vote here.
