Manchester City are just one win away from claiming the Premier League trophy after their 3-1 victory over Everton on Saturday afternoon.

First-half goals from Leroy Sane, Gabriel Jesus and Raheem Sterling sealed yet another three points for Pep Guardiola’s side.


Having now won 27 of their 31 top flight games this season, City are just three points away from claiming a third ever Premier League title and a first under Pep Guardiola.

City’s previous titles came in both 2011/12 and 2013/14.

And the Cityzens can make it a historic trio of titles in less than a week when they travel welcome rivals Manchester United to The Etihad.


United sit second in the table, 16 points adrift of City, and will be hoping to spoil the party when welcome they visit their neighbours on Saturday afternoon.

For City however, having the chance to clinch the title against their bitter rivals is a once in a lifetime opportunity and one they fully intend to clinch, according to midfielder Fernandinho.

“I don’t think it would be happening if we had planned our season like this,” sad the Brazil midfielder. “It all came naturally – we grabbed ourselves a fairly good advantage as leaders and, against our biggest rivals, we can become champions with a win.

“We’ll be very focused. Winning a title over our biggest rivals can put us in City’s history, and make the fans very happy.”
