Manchester City Boss Pep Guardiola Trolls Title Rivals Arsenal In Interview

Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola has ruthlessly trolled the Citizen’s title rivals, Arsenal, in a recent press conference [via TalkSPORT].

In the press conference, Guardiola said: “Maybe the mood there [at Arsenal] is a bit down. After seven years, they won the most important title – to qualify for the Champions League. Financially, for new signings. I’m pretty sure they have to be so happy, because they make an incredible achievement.”

Arsenal fans will likely see this as condescending – not too long ago, the Gunners seemed to have the Premier League title wrapped up, but recent results have left them at the mercy of the Sky Blues.

While Guardiola suggests that Arsenal fans should be ‘happy’ with their current position, it’s highly unlikely – they will see the current season as a missed opportunity, as opposed to an ‘incredible achievement’.

The Gunners are above the Citizens at this stage by two points, but City have two games in hand over the North London club. Should City win just one of these two games, they will leapfrog Arsenal in the league table.

In Manchester City’s next game, they will take on West Ham United on Wednesday, May 3 – meanwhile, Arsenal are set to take on Newcastle United at the St. James’ Park.
