Manchester City “could join the race” to sign Inter Milan right-back Achraf Hakimi in the summer, according to Calciomercato.it.
The Italian website reports that Arsenal and Chelsea are also thought to be considering bids for the Moroccan international, who only moved to Italy from Real Madrid for €40m (£35m) last July.
This claim follows on from a story in the English media which suggests Hakimi is interested in moving to the Premier League at the end of the season. Arsenal are believed to be the frontrunners as they are looking to strengthen their options on the right flank.
Chelsea’s interest has reportedly cooled after the emergence of Reece James so City may only be in a battle with the Gunners for the 22-year-old’s signature.
However, there are question marks over whether the Citizens would even need another right-back, considering they already have Joao Cancelo and Kyle Walker. We shall see whether there is any substance to this story the closer we get to the summer.
