Pep Guardiola has signed a new deal that will keep him at Manchester City until 2021, and the Manchester City fans couldn’t be happier with the news.
The Spaniard guided City to the Premier League in record fashion in only his second season in English football this term.
The Sky Blues won 32 of their 38 games, and reached a century of points to top the table – a feat never before achieved in Premier League history.
Guardiola’s side also lifted the Carabao Cup, beating Arsenal 3-0 in the final earlier in the year.
“I am so happy and excited. It’s a pleasure to work here,” Guardiola said after putting pen to paper.
“I enjoy working with our players every day and we will try to do our best together in the coming years. As a manager, you have to feel good to be with the players – and I feel good.”
And despite the club’s success this season, the Spaniard is aiming for even more in the years to come.
“I will focus on the desire of my players to become a better team and every day that’s what I will try to do – to improve on the pitch and improve our players,” added Guardiola.
“We have a young squad with an average age of 23 and we want to keep taking steps forward and maintain the levels we’ve achieved this season.”

Guardiola's signed a two-year contract extension, keeping him at City until the summer of 2021. City absolutely delighted; it's the longest he'll spend at any of his clubs
