Manchester City Injury Report Ahead Of The Schalke Game

Manchester City have shared some excellent injury news ahead of tomorrow’s game against Schalke in the Champions League.

Captain Vincent Kompany, fullback Benjamin Mendy and centre-half Eliaquim Mangala all returned to full training yesterday.

Kompany has been sidelined with a muscular injury since the 2-1 win over Liverpool in early January, while Mendy has had to deal with swelling on his knee since making his return from surgery against Burton Albion.

City manager Pep Guardiola does have a couple of other injury concerns heading into the match in Gelsenkirchen.  John Stones and Gabriel Jesus are both suffering with muscular problems. Stones has an adductor strain while Jesus is struggling to overcome a hamstring issue.

It could mean Kompany coming back into the side sooner than expected in order to replace Stones in the centre of defence.

Goalkeeper Claudio Bravo remains the only other player on the sidelines with the Chilean still undergoing rehab on an Achilles injury.
