Manchester City Join Chelsea In Tug Of War For £27m Rated Brazilian

Manchester City have entered the race to sign Porto left-back Alex Telles, according to reports in the French media. Both Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain have been tracking the Brazilian for a while but the Citizens are now also said to be keen on the player.

The fullback has just one year left on his contract at the Estadio do Dragao and the Portuguese side are believed to be looking to offload him before he can leave for nothing next summer.

PSG were reportedly leading the race for Telles, with Chelsea currently focused on signing Ben Chilwell from Leicester City. However, the French club are struggling to match Porto’s asking price.

Sporting director Leonardo is aiming to do a deal for between €20m (£18m) and €25m (£22m), but Porto are only willing to sell for €30m (£27m). Such a figure won’t be an issue for City who could well swoop in and sign the 27-year-old to strengthen their options on the left-hand side of defence.
