Manchester City Keeping Tabs On Paraguayan Teenage Sensation

Manchester City are scouting Paraguayan teenager Fernando Ovelar, according to reports in the English media.

The striker is only 14 years of age, but he is already starring for Cerro Porteno in the top flight of Paraguayan football.

Ovelar played in the derby against Olimpia last Sunday and sensationally scored the opening goal in the 2-2 draw. He had only made his first team debut a week earlier.

His performances have already come to the attention of City scouts, but his club are reportedly reluctant to sell him abroad at such a young age.

The Citizens are, though, said to be prepared to loan Ovelar back to Cerro Porteno for a couple of seasons before the player makes the move to the Etihad Stadium.

No doubt, numerous other clubs, including the likes of Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal will also be keeping tabs on the teenage starlet, so City may want to snap up the youngster sooner rather than later.
