Manchester City Lead Host Of Clubs Pursuing Deal For Macedonian Wonderkid

Manchester City are interested in signing Fenerbahce starlet Elif Elmas, according to reports in the Turkish media.

The Citizens are said to be keen on completing a deal during the January transfer window but they will face competition for the midfielder’s signature.

Borussia Dortmund and Manchester United are believed to be keeping tabs on the Macedonian while Fenerbahce’s president has said that no less than 26 clubs have registered their interest in the teenager.

Elmas was reportedly watched by City scouts as Macedonia played Armenia in the UEFA Nations League last week. The 18-year-old played the full ninety minutes as his side came out 2-0 winners.

He has already collected five senior caps for his country despite his young age and has also been a regular for Fenerbahce this campaign.

Manager Philip Cocu has selected him in the starting eleven in four games this season, including both legs of the Champions League third qualifying tie against Benfica last month.
