Manchester City V Aston Villa: Team News And Betting Odds

Manchester City will be confident of getting the three points against Aston Villa on Saturday after demolishing Atalanta 5-1 in the Champions League midweek.

The visitors are also in good form after following up their 5-1 win over Norwich City with a last gasp 2-1 victory against Brighton last time out, but their defence will be tested more at the Etihad this weekend.

City revealed before the win over Atalanta that Oleksandr Zinchenko has been sidelined with a knee injury. The Ukrainian will undergo tests to determine the severity of the issue, but it’s likely that he won’t feature against Villa.

Rodri was injured during the first half last night and after the game, manager Pep Guardiola estimated that the Spaniard could miss the next two to three weeks with a hamstring problem.

Leroy Sane and Aymeric Laporte (both knee) remain out of contention and are expected to return to action in the New Year.

Villa boss Dean Smith will be without Jota for the game with the winger having undergone a hernia operation. Jonathan Kodjia is also a doubt with a facial injury.

The bookmakers have City as clear favourites with Betfair pricing them at 1/9 to get the win. A draw is 21/2 with 888 Sport while a victory for the away side is 33/1 at Ladbrokes.

Predicted Score – City to win 4-1
