Manchester City V Burnley – Match Preview & Predicted XI

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola will be very happy with how the international break has gone.

The likes of Sergio Aguero, Fernandinho, Aymeric Laporte and Benjamin Mendy were not selected for their countries and took a full part in training yesterday ahead of Saturday’s game against Burnley.

Kevin De Bruyne’s return to fitness is also a massive boost for the Citizens. The Belgian international could be in line to feature at the weekend following his recovery from a serious knee injury.

Fabian Delph also took part in training but the England international is said to be still a doubt for the Burnley match. Ilkay Gundogan is also unlikely to feature due to a hamstring injury. Claudio Bravo (Achilles) and Eliaquim Mangala (knee) are still out for the long term.

For City’s opponents, James Tarkowski had to withdraw from England duty due to a groin injury and will be assessed by the club’s medical staff ahead of the game at the Etihad.

Robbie Brady is believed to be close to a return from a hamstring injury, but the game on Saturday is likely to come too early. Ben Gibson (hernia) and Nick Pope (dislocated shoulder) are also out of contention.

Manchester City’s Predicted XI to face Burnley:

Ederson

Walker, Stones, Laporte, Mendy

David Silva, Fernandinho, Bernardo Silva,

Sterling, Aguero, Sane

Predicted Score – City to win 3-0
