Manchester City v Fulham – Match Preview and Predicted XI

Manchester City face Fulham at the Etihad on Saturday afternoon hoping to build on their 2-1 home win against Newcastle before the international break.

A home fixture is always welcome when players are returning from far and wide from their national team squads, and manager Pep Guardiola will be hoping everyone returns fully fit.

Fulham have recovered from a poor start to the season by picking up a win against Burnley and an away point against Brighton.

The Cottagers were 2-0 up at the Amex but only managed a draw, and they have conceded nine goals in their first four Premier League fixtures. City will be keen to exploit their weaknesses at the back.

Guardiola is without Kevin De Bruyne (knee), Claudio Bravo (Achilles) and Eliaquim Mangala (knee) but Raheem Sterling could return after picking up a back injury which forced him to withdraw from international duty with England.

The Citizens could also welcome Danilo back into the fold. Teammate Gabriel Jesus revealed on his Instagram that the right-back is back in training after missing the start of the season.

Fulham, meanwhile, will be without their influential playmaker Tom Cairney. The midfielder is set to miss the rest of September with a foot injury.

Here’s how we think City will line up against Fulham:

Ederson

Walker, Stones, Laporte, Mendy

Sterling, David Silva, Fernandinho, Mahrez

Gabriel Jesus, Aguero

Predicted Score: 4-1 Man City
