Manchester City V Liverpool: Team News, Predicted XI And Betting Odds

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola says he is waiting to see whether Sergio Aguero will be fit for Sunday’s game against Liverpool. The 32-year-old has not played since being taken off at half time against West Ham last month but he is close to returning from a hamstring injury.

With Gabriel Jesus having made a scoring return against Olympiakos midweek, the need won’t be as great to get Aguero back for the match this weekend. In addition to the Argentine, Benjamin Mendy and Fernandinho are not expected to feature.

Manchester City’s Predicted XI To Face Liverpool:

Ederson, Walker, Dias, Laporte, Cancelo, De Bruyne, Rodri, Silva, Mahrez, Jesus, Sterling

Liverpool’s injury woes are well documented. Joel Matip is, though, expected to be back in contention for the City game after returning to training. Thiago Alcantara (knee) is a doubt, while Virgil van Dijk (knee), Fabinho (hamstring) and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (knee) are all on the sidelines.

Liverpool’s Predicted XI:

Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Gomez, Robertson, Wijnaldum, Henderson, Keita, Salah, Diogo Jota, Mane

The bookies have made City slight favourites with Unibet pricing them at 26/25 to get the win. A draw is currently 16/5 with Bet 365 while a victory for Liverpool is 12/5 at Sky Bet.

Predicted Score – 2-1 to City
