Manchester City V Rotherham – FA Cup Third Round Preview, Predicted XI And Betting Odds

Manchester City will be buoyed after coming out on top against Liverpool last night, but they are likely to make wholesale changes for the FA Cup third round tie against Rotherham on Sunday.

The Millers had been on a rotten run of just one win in three and a half months before their 1-0 victory over Preston on New Years Day, and it will be an extremely tall order for Paul Warne’s side to get any sort of result at the Etihad.

City have one new injury concern heading into the game. Aymeric Laporte picked up a knock in the win over Liverpool and is a slight doubt for the weekend. Benjamin Mendy (knee), Claudio Bravo (Achilles) and Eliaquim Mangala (knee) remain on the sidelines.

For Rotherham, they are in the midst of an injury crisis making an upset even more unlikely against City. They have had to recall players from loan spells, and select youngsters to fill up the bench against Preston. Zak Vyner, Clark Robertson, Kyle Vassell and Darren Potter are all expected to be absent due to injury.

The Championship side will, though, have Billy Jones back from suspension but Richie Towell is still banned after picking up a red card against Bristol City.

As expected, the bookies have made City hot favourites with Bet365 having them at 1/12. A draw is 14/1 at Betfair while a Rotherham win is 40/1 at William Hill.

Manchester City’s Predicted XI To Face Rotherham:

Muric, Walker, Otamendi, Garcia, Zinchenko, De Bruyne, Gundogan, Foden, Mahrez, Gabriel Jesus, Sane

Rotherham’s Predicted XI:

Rodak, Ajayi, Wood, Raggett, Mattock, Taylor, Palmer, Vaulks, Wiles, Williams, Smith

Predicted Score – 4-0 to City
