Manchester City V Southampton: Team News And Betting Odds

After beating Southampton 3-1 in the League Cup on Tuesday, Manchester City are preparing to do it all again when they play the league fixture this weekend.

Although Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side did put up a fight in the first game, they were distinctly second best, and they will be expecting another difficult encounter when they face off at the Etihad on Saturday.

City manager Pep Guardiola blooded a few youngsters midweek, but some of the first-team regulars are expected to come back into the side for the league match.

Angelino did suffer an injury scare versus the Saints and was taken off in the second half, but it is believed that the Spaniard was only suffering from cramp.

Rodri (hamstring), Oleksandr Zinchenko (knee), Leroy Sane and Aymeric Laporte (knee) all remain unavailable, but Fernandinho will return after serving his suspension.

Southampton, meanwhile, still have Cedric Soares (calf) and Moussa Djenepo (muscular) on the treatment table with Ryan Bertrand suspended after his red card against Leicester last week.

The bookmakers have City as heavy favourites with Betfair pricing them at 1/9 to get the win. A draw is 12/1 with Bet365 while a Southampton victory is 30/1 at Unibet.

Predicted Score – 4-1 to City
