“Manchester City Want Him” Balague Confirms Club’s Pursuit Of Bayern Star Is Still On

BBC columnist, and Spanish football expert, Guillem Balague has made it clear that Bayern Munich defender David Alaba has still not made a decision on his next club.

Reports in Spain have suggested that the Austrian international will sign for Real Madrid, but Balague says that Manchester City, along with three other teams, are still in contention to sign him:

“Manchester United want him, Manchester City want him, Liverpool as well, and PSG too. PSG only if Neymar stays… He may [still] end up going to Real Madrid, of course, but the decision has not been made yet, as there is no need to do it yet.”

Balague is generally well connected when it comes to Spanish football so he is likely to possess some decent inside knowledge when it comes to Real’s transfer dealings. However, his comments are contradicted by another trusted journalist Fabrizio Romano.

The Guardian reporter has a pinned tweet from 3 days ago stating his belief that Alaba has agreed a move to the Bernabeu so it’s very much down to who you believe.

If Alaba has yet to make up his mind, as Balague says, then City may well still have a chance of signing the 28-year-old when his contract expires this summer.
