‘Massive Transformation’ ‘New Contract Needed’ – City Fans On Twitter Praise 22-Year-Old’s Recent Form

Manchester City’s Oleksandr Zinchenko was excellent once again during the 1-0 win over Bournemouth at the weekend.

The 22-year-old has been in outstanding form at left-back over the past few weeks, with manager Pep Guardiola having singled him out for praise on more than one occasion.

Zinchenko’s current deal expires at the end of next season, and fans on Twitter are hoping City can now tie him down to a longer-term deal:

Considering the Ukrainian is more comfortable as a central midfielder, his conversion into a first-team fullback has been somewhat forced by circumstances.

With Benjamin Mendy having been plagued by injuries since his arrival at the Etihad and Fabian Delph having had his own injury issues, Zinchenko has taken his chance to impress.

His performances in the last three games have been top drawer, with a special mention for his two assists in the 6-0 drubbing of Chelsea last month.

In total, Zinchenko now has one goal and four assists in 18 appearances this campaign.
