Ex-Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil has predicted that Manchester City will retain the Premier League title this season.

However, the former German international claims that Liverpool will pip the likes of the Citizens, Chelsea and Bayern Munich to lift the Champions League. He also weighed in on the World Cup, stating that England are the favourites:

It will be interesting to see how Ozil’s predictions hold up. While their lead in the Premier League has been cut to just one point, City remain the frontrunners for the title, as Liverpool still have a trip to the Etihad to come next month.

If they were asked to choose, though, some fans would probably prefer to lift the club’s first Champions League this season. Even though Ozil says they won’t win both, who is to say that Pep Guardiola’s side can’t go on to win the two competitions come May? It would be no small feat but if any team can do it, it is City.
