Michael Owen Predicts The Scoreline As City Take On Chelsea

Michael Owen is backing Manchester City to record a pretty straightforward win when they play Chelsea at the Etihad this afternoon.

Pep Guardiola’s side were dominant in the first league game between the two clubs earlier in the season and Owen thinks it could be a similar story in the reverse fixture:

“City were fantastic when they went to the Bridge and won 1-0 earlier in the season. They looked like the team to beat in the league that day and that’s proven to be correct. I can see another win for them here.”

Owen has gone with a 3-1 victory to City, which seems like a pretty fair prediction, considering the league form of the two teams.

The Citizens will be looking for their 12th win in a row, while their opponents have recorded maximum points in just two of their last seven matches.

However, Thomas Tuchel’s men are unlikely to be as defensive as they were in the game back in September, which has its plus and minus points for City.

There should be plenty more gaps to exploit in order to create chances but, by the same measure, Ederson may also have a few more saves to make.
