Mourinho ‘jealous’ of Man City, says pundit

Footballing legend and pundit Alan Shearer claims that Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is jealous of bitter rivals City, after comments he made on the Blues’ upcoming documentary.

Mourinho took aim at Guardiola and City, not for the first time, insisting that they were disrespectful with their documentary and hinted that they lacked class.

The United boss said: “I think you can have a fantastic movie, respecting others. You don’t need to be disrespectful.

“I haven’t seen it but I know a few things about the movie.

“My reaction is if you are a rich club you can buy top players, you cannot buy class. That is my first reaction.

“The second reaction is because I am in the movie, I could ask for some royalties.”

Guardiola hit back at Mourinho’s comments, saying the documentary wasn’t disrespectful in any way but that the Portuguese is entitled to his opinion.

“I think we lived an amazing season with cameras. We did it for ourselves,” said Guardiola.

“It is Jose’s opinion.”

Alan Shearer has backed City for their documentary, slamming Mourinho in the process for being jealous of his opposite number.

“Jose Mourinho has criticised the Manchester City TV documentary, saying “you cannot buy class”,” Shearer told The Sun.

“It is typical Jose, trying to look after his own club.

“But he is just jealous that City were successful last season and Manchester United were not.

“The fact of the matter is, Jose wishes United were in City’s position.

“From what I have seen of the documentary, it is a great insight into what makes Pep Guardiola tick and the reasons why he is so very good.”
