Manchester City are monitoring Marseille centre-back Duje Caleta-Car very closely, according to 90min.com. The website claims that scouts have been watching the 23-year-old and they have been very impressed by what they have seen.
Some have compared the Croatian to former United defender Nemanja Vidic, and it appears the Red Devils are also keeping tabs on the defender.
City reportedly have been considering four names as they look to sign a centre-half this summer. As well as Caleta-Car, they have looked at West Ham’s Issa Diop, Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly and RB Leipzig’s Dayot Upamcecano.
It is believed the Citizens are planning a massive overhaul in central defence, with the futures of John Stones and Nicolas Otamendi both in doubt, and it could lead to the Manchester club splashing out on two centre-backs.
Whether one of those will be Caleta-Car, we shall have to wait and see, but he is clearly impressing observers with his performances this campaign.
