Newcastle V Manchester City: Team News, Predicted XI And Betting Odds

Manchester City have looked a bit flaky against Chelsea and Shakhtar Donetsk, and while they picked up a win and Champions League group qualification in those two games, Pep Guardiola will be hoping for more against Newcastle.

The Magpies are coming off the back of a very poor performance against Aston Villa on Monday night, and while they have beaten Manchester United at home this season, they do not offer much of a threat going forward.

City will be without Sergio Aguero (thigh) and Oleksandr Zinchenko (knee) with the former likely to miss the Manchester derby next week. Aymeric Laporte and Leroy Sane (both knee) are still at least two months away from making their return.

Manchester City’s Predicted XI To Face Newcastle

Ederson, Walker, Stones, Fernandinho, Mendy, De Bruyne, Rodri, David Silva, Bernardo Silva, Jesus, Sterling

Newcastle manager Steve Bruce has confirmed that Florian Lejuene is back in contention to play after a serious knee injury, but he is unlikely to start this weekend. Matt Ritchie (ankle) and captain Jamaal Lascelles (knee) are both unavailable.

Newcastle’s Predicted XI:

Dubravka, Yedlin, Schar, Fernandez, Clark, Willems, Shelvey, Hayden, Almiron, Joelinton, Saint-Maximin

The bookmakers have City as heavy favourites with Sky Bet pricing them at 1/5 to get the win. A draw is currently 13/2 with Betway while a Newcastle victory is 16/1 at Coral.

Predicted Score – 3-1 to City
