Nicholas Makes His Prediction As City Take On United In The Manchester Derby

Charlie Nicholas says Manchester City’s 4-1 win over Burnley on Tuesday is a strong indication that the Citizens are back on the right track. The TV pundit believes Pep Guardiola’s side will have too much for Manchester United when the two sides face other at the Etihad:

“City have the fire, the burning desire back in their bellies, we saw that in the victory at Burnley, and it is for that reason why the United revival will be short-lived. It will be a blue day in Manchester.”

Nicholas has gone for a 3-1 win to City, which would certainly be a massive result for the home side. United did show they are a threat when they defeated Spurs 2-1 at Old Trafford midweek, but their away form this season has been wretched.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have won just once on the road, and that came against Norwich back in late October. In contrast, City remain very strong on their own turf, with the solitary defeat to Wolves their only real blip.

We should expect goals, with Guardiola’s men having hit 21 at home in just seven league games this season, but United do tend to counter-attack from deep positions, so the home team will need to be patient to find the openings tomorrow night.
