It certainly wasn’t the result fans were hoping for, but Manchester City’s 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace yesterday still saw Sergio Aguero add two more goals to his Premier League total.

The 31-year-old now has 15 league goals this season, just two behind Leicester’s Jamie Vardy on 17 at the top of the goalscoring charts. Supporters on Twitter think the Argentine could win the Golden Boot this season if he stays fit:

There are also a number of other contenders to become top goalscorer. The joint winner from last season, Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, is on 14, as is Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford, while Chelsea’s Tammy Abraham has 13. Liverpool’s Sadio Mane is on 11 while Mo Salah is sat on 10.

Selection and fitness permitting, though, Aguero should be right up there at the end of the campaign, and you certainly wouldn’t put it past the striker to even surpass his highest total in one league season; the 26 he managed during the 2014/15 campaign.
