Napoli have enquired about signing Manchester City forward Sergio Aguero, according to reports in the Italian media.
The Partenopei are said to be willing to pay €30m (£27m) for the 31-year-old, but they have contacted the striker’s brother and agent to ascertain whether he’d be interested in a switch to Serie A.
Supporters have laughed off the speculation, questioning the authenticity of the story:

30 million for Aguero. Are you having a laugh. He’s worth treble that.

It is true that Aguero is unlikely to retire at the Etihad Stadium, with the player having stated on more than one occasion that he would like to return to Argentina to play for his first club Independiente before he hangs up his boots.
However, the likelihood of him leaving City before that is highly unlikely. Considering what the club legend has done during his nine years with the team, he will be given the freedom to choose when he goes but that won’t be anytime soon.
