Manchester City remain interested in signing Juventus centre-back Leonardo Bonucci, according to reports in the Italian media.
The Citizens were originally linked with the 32-year-old last summer and it appears that the Manchester club have continued monitoring the player.
Supporters on Twitter don’t think a bid for Bonucci would be the right move:
No way. He is too slow

Better keep John Stones then.

If we going for experience then better get Koulibaly

Not fast enough for PL. We need CBs with pace

Surely Bonucci to old to sign now , go for someone that we could get at least 5/6 years out of ,but we definitely need a new centre half to partner Laporte

City certainly do need a wise old head at the back who can provide some much-needed defensive solidity, but the interest in Bonucci is surprising.
He isn’t the most mobile of defenders, and while he can make up for it in terms of his experience, it would still take some time for him to adapt to the Premier League.
There are certainly younger alternatives to Bonucci, such as Inter’s Milan Skriniar and Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly, who could prove to be better investments.
In any case, it does seem that the Italian international will be difficult signing to pull off, with Juve boss Maurizo Sarri keen to keep him at the Serie A club.
