Bayern Munich have entered the battle to snap up Manchester City captain Ilkay Gundogan on a free transfer, according to reports.
The 32-year-old’s contract expires in June and it looks increasingly likely that he will leave the Premier League champions at the end of the season.
Gundogan is not expected to make a decision about his future before the World Cup but, with just two months to go before he can formally begin talks with other clubs, fans on Twitter are concerned that he could end up moving to Bayern:

Big loss particularly as likely we also lose Bernardo in the summer.

Other teams, including Arsenal, Galatasaray, Juventus and Barcelona have also been credited with an interest in the midfielder but a return to Germany may tempt Gundogan.
He joined the Citizens from Borussia Dortmund for £20m just over six years ago, and he has gone on to make 268 appearances for the club, as well as winning eleven major trophies during that period.
