Manchester City have released their new away shirt for the upcoming season.
It is the first to be made by the club’s new kit manufacturers, Puma, and it has caused a stir online:
Ratings of 2019/20 away kit increases to 9/10 when you see Aguero in it… pic.twitter.com/8aUNoYjTE1

Fans on Twitter are split on the merits of the new jersey, with some thinking it is garish, while others are liking the bold styling:
Not a fan, too many colors ? keep it simple that left shoulder kills it

TBH I prefer our away kit to our home kit

Kit is mint and anybody who cannot see its connection to Manchester & the Madchester era is obviously not a Manc

The kit is said to be inspired by the “Madchester” scene in the 90s with yellow stripes on the right shoulder inspired by the city’s Hacienda club.
The home shirt, in contrast, is a more understated affair, although it does have purple trimming and a woven jacquard wave pattern in Sky Blue.
Puma’s deal with City is a ten-year contract worth a staggering £650m. It extends right across the City Football Group’s family of clubs, with the only exceptions being New York City and Yokohama F-Marinos who can agree their own kit deals.
