Manchester City were a class above their opponents as they swept aside League One opponents Burton Albion in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final last night.
Four goals from Gabriel Jesus, and others from Kevin De Bruyne, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Phil Foden, Kyle Walker and Riyad Mahrez sealed a 9-0 win.
However, instead of basking in the glory of the victory, manager Pep Guardiola opted to shake the hands of every Burton player after the final whistle, as well as talking to the players, including goalkeeper Bradley Collins.
Supporters on Twitter were pleased to see the City boss taking the time to console the Brewers’ players after what would have been a demoralising defeat:
Now that is class

Extremely humble. Always has been. I think he’s aware, success wise, that it could always slide the other way.

16 goals in just two games is quite astonishing, and after winning a decisive league game against Liverpool before that, the Citizens have certainly put a difficult December behind them in recent weeks.
Guardiola’s side will host Wolves at home on Monday night as they look to hunt down the Reds at the top of the Premier League table.
