Manchester City are interested in signing Sevilla centre-back Diego Carlos, according to reports in the Spanish media. The Brazilian only moved from Nantes in July but his performances have come to the attention of the Citizens.
Pep Guardiola’s side are not believed to be looking to strengthen in the January transfer window but a move for a centre-back next summer is very likely. Some supporters on Twitter think Carlos could well be a good piece of business:
Now this is a positive thing. Not targeting expensive world class but huge potential players.

City are not the only team looking at Carlos, though, with other reports in Spain claiming that Liverpool have already opened negotiations about signing the 26-year-old. Real Madrid are also said to be circling the defender.
Sevilla have the joint third-best defensive record in La Liga this season, which has helped them to third in the table after 18 games. Carlos has started every single league game and even scored in their last match, in the 2-0 win against Mallorca.
