‘Oh God’ ‘We Are Screwed!’ Fans Not Happy With Choice Of Referee For City V Chelsea Clash This Weekend

Michael Oliver will be the referee in charge when Manchester City take on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon.

The official’s performance will undoubtedly play a central role in deciding the outcome of the match, and fans on Twitter are not particularly happy with Oliver’s appointment:

Oliver was in charge for City’s 5-2 home defeat to Leicester at the start of last season. However, since then, he has overseen five consecutive wins when officiating City matches.

Victories over Sheffield United and Liverpool were followed by ones against West Ham in the league and two versus Everton (one of which was in the FA Cup).

If anything, Chelsea supporters will probably be more concerned by the referee that has been chosen. Oliver was the man in the middle when the Blues lost 3-1 to Arsenal at the back end of last year. He also presided over the 1-0 defeat to Leicester in the FA Cup final back in May.
