Pep Guardiola has praised midfielder David Silva after his recent run of good form, saying “there is no-one like him”.
Silva has been on-hand to score in two of Manchester City’s last four games – both against Arsenal in back-to-back 3-0 victories – and the Spaniard will be hoping to add to his tally of six for the seasons at Stoke City tonight.
City take on the Potters at the bet365 tonight, and ahead of the clash, Pep Guardiola has sung the praises of the talismanic Spaniard.
“He’s been one of the best players in the past decade and he’s so good.” he said speaking of the Spain international.
“He’s a huge competitor. His body language is silent, he doesn’t say many things but on the pitch but he always makes a step forward and that’s what’s so important.”
Silva has had to be back-and-forth between his home country due to personal reasons over the past few months, and Guardiola spoke of his admiration for the 32-year-old in what has been a difficult period for the family man.
“We say many times that family is the most important thing,” Guardiola said. “But of course, he knows he has to train.
“When we go to Abu Dhabi he will stay in Spain but hopefully the situation can get resolved as soon as possible.”
