Pep Guardiola Raises Major Concern As He Rates City’s Chances Of Catching Arsenal

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola says his side can’t afford to fall further behind Arsenal at the top of the table.

Ahead of the game against Leeds, Guardiola’s team trail the Gunners by eight points, and he believes that the Citizens must stay in touch with the Premier League leaders in the coming weeks if they are to maintain their title challenge:

“After our defeat against Brentford and with how strong Arsenal are, as well as the opponents who come from behind, we have to be alert and careful. If the distance is bigger, it will be so difficult to catch them.”

City have shown themselves to be strong frontrunners in past title battles, but it looks like they could be the ones doing the chasing in the second half of this season.

Of course, they do have the experience of going on long winning streaks and that should put a lot of pressure on Arsenal if things do tighten up as we head towards the run-in.

It is wise not to get too far ahead of ourselves, though, and the focus, for now, is to put a run of form together that can close the gap to first place.
