PSG name price for Kylian Mbappe as Manchester City circle

PSG have named their price for forward Kylian Mbappe amidst interest from Manchester City – an astonishing one billion pounds.

Mbappe is understood to be one of City’s top transfer targets this summer as Pep Guardiola looks to add firepower to his already astonishingly strong forward line.

The Spaniard had previously tried to lure Mbappe to The Etihad last year, however the France international instead opted for PSG.

He completed an initial one-season loan deal before a permanent deal worth over £160 million this summer.

However, after a difficult season in the French capital, with the club’s forward trio of Edinson Cavani, Neymar and Mbappe himself seemingly unable to see eye-to-eye – it was rumoured the teenager could be allowed to leave the Stade de France after only a year.

PSG president Nasser Al Khelaifi confirmed those rumours, however with the caveat any potential party must pay in excess of £1 billion to secure his services.

Asked for a target price, he told Canal+ : “You want me to give you a number? More than €1bn!

“Yes, I said one billion! And even if you gave me a billion, I wouldn’t sell him.”

Khelaifi’s all but rule out a move away from the Ligue 1 champions for the 19-year-old, and likely see’s the end of Manchester City’s proposed pursuit of the striker.
