Manchester City fans are not happy with the club’s new third kit.
City revealed the new strip earlier today, which will be worn for the club’s Champions League campaign this season.
Inspired by an number of the club’s most historic kits, the orange and purple jersey brings back the club’s famous ‘sash’ design, and incorporates elements designed to pay homage to the city of Manchester and the Etihad Stadium.
“Following a record-breaking run that saw City achieve an unprecedented 100 points in a single season,” reads a statement on the club’s official website, “the new third jersey reintroduces the famous football sash identity seen in many historic City kits, in a striking orange colour on a dark purple base.

“Closer inspection reveals elements of the club’s DNA threaded through the shirt.
“The pattern is inspired by an aerial representation of East Manchester, with the Etihad Stadium visible within the sash, symbolising the club’s pride at representing the City of Manchester in Europe and across the world.”
The Nike designed kit also features purple shorts, while the socks are predominantly orange with a gradient pattern which fades to purple.
Fans will have to fork out a steep £89.95 for the official Vapor Match Shirt as worn by the players, while a standard replica shirt is available for £64.95.
Judging by the fan’s reactions however, it doesn’t seem many will be emptying their wallet to grab themselves one …
