“Quiet Confidence…” Reliable Journalist Claims City Are Now Optimistic About Sealing Club Record Transfer

Manchester City are increasingly hopeful that they can sign Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund this summer, according to the Daily Telegraph‘s Jason Burt.

After Liverpool withdrew from the race, City and Real Madrid are now the two frontrunners for the England international’s signature and Burt claims the Premier League champions are now optimistic about pulling off a club-record deal:

Dortmund’s asking price for Bellingham is said to be €150m (£132m) so his transfer fee will almost certainly eclipse the £100m paid for Jack Grealish.

Chelsea and Manchester United have also been mentioned as possible suitors, but the finances required mean it is difficult to see either team competing with City.

You would even back Pep Guardiola’s side to outmuscle Real in terms of what they could offer Bellingham but the final decision will come down to the player. He is expected to make up his mind on his next club in the coming weeks.
