Real Madrid superstar given the green light to leave amidst Manchester City interest

Manchester City target Isco has been given the green light to leave Real Madrid at the end of the season, according to reports from Diario Gol.

The Los Blancos midfielder is reportedly unhappy with his lack of playing time at the Bernabeu and wants to leave in the summer.

The Spaniard has made 18 starts in La Liga for Zinedine Zidane’s side this season, but has often played second fiddle to both Luka Modric and Toni Kroos in Madrid’s midfielder.

And amidst reported calls from his team-mates for him to be sold in the summer, the former Malaga star is understood to have been given the go-ahead to leave the club.

Chelsea are favourite’s to land the 25-year-old midfielder, with Antonio Conte understood to be a big fan of the Spain international.

However, the Blues are likely to face big competition from Manchester City, with Cityzens boss Pep Guardiola also keen to land the Real Madrid star.

City are reportedly willing to offer an initial £52.5million (€60m) plus £15.5m (€20m) in add-ons.

Madrid boss Zidane however, has recently shot down speculation that Isco could be in the move this summer.

Speaking last month, the Frenchman said: “He a very good footballer. He’s proven that in the past and will do that again.

“I want Isco [in my team] and I want him to spend his whole life here.

“It’s a lie that I want Isco to be sold in the summer. Hopefully we won’t hear any more of this.”
