AC Milan and Juventus are both still contenders to sign Manchester City forward Gabriel Jesus, according to Calciomercato.it.

The Italian site reports that. while Arsenal remain “ahead” in the race to secure the Brazilian’s services, there is “still room” for the two Serie A teams to muscle in on negotiations.

Milan are reportedly the ones who may press ahead with an offer, after already having contacted Jesus’s agent for information about a potential transfer.

Calciomercato say the Rossoneri are expected to hold further talks this week but they understand an “economic effort” will be needed to persuade the player into joining them.

City are said to be demanding around €60m (£51m) for Jesus and, despite the 25-year-old having only a year remaining on his contract, the amount of interest being shown in the player means a club could meet their asking price.

In addition to the teams already mentioned, it is believed that Newcastle, Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are also keen on signing the striker.
