REPORT: City Ace Is ‘Close To Completing His Switch’ To Arsenal With Announcement Expected In ‘Days’

Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus is “close to completing his switch” to Arsenal, according to Goal‘s City Correspondent Jonathan Smith.

The journalist claims that deal could be announced within “days”, with the Brazilian international expected to be the first of a number of first-team players leaving the Etihad this summer.

Arsenal had a £30m bid rejected for Jesus last week, with the Citizens holding ou for a fee in the region of £50m. However, there is a feeling that a compromise is likely, with add-ons expected to make up the gap between the two team’s valuations.

As Jesus only has a year left on his contract, City are very much open to letting him leave. The likes of Chelsea, Tottenham and Juventus have also been linked with the Brazilian but the Gunners have always been firm favourites for the player’s signature.

Mikel Arteta has worked with Jesus before, whilst their technical director Edu is known to have close contacts with the player’s agent, so it appears that a deal will be finalised
