REPORT: City Enter Four Team Transfer Battle For 70M Rated World Cup Winner

Manchester City are weighing up a move for Brighton midfielder Alexis Mac Allister, according to the Daily Star.

The English tabloid claims that the Premier League champions may well match the World Cup winner’s £70m asking price. However, they are not the only team looking to recruit the Argentinian international.

Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool are also said to be interested in Mac Allister, who has impressed alongside Moises Caicedo in the heart of Brighton’s midfield this season.

City are said to be looking to revamp their options in the middle of the park, with there expected to be some departures in that area this summer. Captain Ilkay Gundogan could well leave on a free transfer when his contract expires at the end of June.

Bernardo Silva is also thought to be considering whether to leave the Etihad so Mac Allister is likely being considered as a potential replacement for one of the two players.
